The Longhorn Café started out as a small taco stand on Blanco road around the 1950’s. Originally, around 1980, it was purchased by a Texas Aggie and an Oklahoma Sooner who turned it into a local burger joint, and on a lark, named it Longhorn Café and painted the sign maroon. In 1995, it was purchased by Paul Weir and David Wynn of San Antonio, Texas. They saw the potential.
In 2002, the expansion began, adding the Leon Springs store. Today, we are six locations strong; four in San Antonio, one in New Braunfels, and one in Boerne, TX.
Longhorn Café is proud to be a local favorite for some of the best down-home cookin’ around. From our Big Juicy™ burgers, fresh cut and battered onion rings, giant-size fried mushrooms, Texas-style Chicken Fried Steak, to our crisp and hearty salads, there is something for everyone! We attribute success to quality food, ample portions, great service, and fair prices. Our beef is fresh, never frozen; we cut our own produce and hand batter and bread our fried specialties! Fresh makes the difference and our customers appreciate that!
We are the comfortable and casual dining experience for all ages. Our kid-friendly menu, arcades, sandpits, and play-scapes keep the youngsters entertained, while the adults kick back and enjoy good food, a cold beer, and great company. Watch your favorite game or relax on the patio with some live music! Have you had your “Big Juicy” today?
